Infectious Diseases
Offers comprehensive treatment for various infections caused by microorganisms affecting all organs, ranging from epidemic influenza to complicated antibiotic resistant bacterial infections. An appropriate diagnosis and treatment will be provided, even for exotic infections contracted abroad, as we are the clinical department of “International Center for Clinical Infectious Diseases”.
Highlights of the department
- Measures for exotic infections contracted both inside and outside Japan: Two dedicated hospital beds for “category I infectious diseases” such as Ebola virus infection are available, as we are designated as a medical institution for Type I infectious diseases.
- Close coordination with other institutes: By implementing testing methods adhering to international standards, we will be able to diagnose conditions other institutes are unable to do.
- Significant educational support: Comprehensive educational support will be offered by professors specialized in each field of infectious diseases.
- Support to other departments: Thorough support through consultation and measures against infectious diseases will be offered.
- International activities (mainly in Asia): Consultation will be offered with regard to creating guidelines and setting out measures against infectious diseases in each country, in coordination with overseas medical and educational institutions.
