Offers advanced treatments for a comprehensive range of motor system disorders with a team of physicians holding highly developed clinical abilities and vast international experience. Specialists with world-class surgical skills will offer treatments surpassing international standards in the fields of upper limb, lower limb, spine and spinal cord, tumors, sports-related injuries and rheumatism care.

Highlights of the department

Field of spine and spinal cord:

Offers surgeries for general spinal diseases such as degenerative disease, as well as a wide range of refractory disease in various parts of the body including spinal deformity such as scoliosis, cervical spine diseases, ossification of ligaments, rheumatoid spondylitis, infectious diseases, dialysis spondylitis, spine and spinal cord tumors.
Highly specialized and cutting edge treatment such as minimally invasive spinal surgery, which only a limited number of physicians and medical institutions are able to perform in Japan will be available.

The most advanced image-guided technology (O-arm: O-arm imaging system and VR: Virtual Reality technology) available in Japan will be used to conduct difficult surgeries with a high margin of safety.

  • Cervical disc replacement for cervical disc herniation and cervical radiculopathy
  • LIF (Lateral Lumbar Inter body Fusion)for lumbar disc herniation and lumbar spinal stenosis
  • ACR(Anterior Column Realignment)for lumbar degenerative kyphosis and lumbar vertebral bodies post-traumatic kyphosis

Field of upper limbs:

Upper limbs (hands, elbows and shoulders) will be comprehensively treated. Highly advanced treatment such as arthroscopic surgery and minimally invasive surgery will be offered.

  • Ligamentous injury, general trauma such as tendon rupture, athletic injury and disorders associated with trauma such as malunion
  • Osteoarthritis and rheumatic joint diseases (artificial joints or joint- sparing surgery will be offered)
  • Peripheral neuropathy

Field of lower limbs:

Lower limbs (hip, knee, ankle and foot) will be comprehensively treated. We are highly experienced and have great expertise in the field of surgery of the legs in Japan.

  • Minimally invasive surgery for hallux valgus
  • Minimally invasive artificial joint replacement
  • Minimally invasive endoscopic surgery for athletic injuries such as anterior cruciate ligament injury (ACL) and meniscus injury
