Staying in the Hospital
While staying in the hospital, our nursing department are well prepared for 24/7 so that you can dedicate yourself to your treatment and recover as early as possible. If you have any concern, please feel free to ask your doctor or nurse.
Rest
Follow directions of your doctor and nurse on your recommended rest and the allowable level of activity.
Examination and Surgery
- We will explain the examination to the patient either the day before or in advance.
- Depending on the patient’s condition, some examinations may need to be performed urgently.
- Some examinations require signed consent forms. Please carefully read the provided document in advance, fill it out, sign it, and submit it.
- Please refrain from wearing makeup or nail polish (including gel nails, etc.) during all examinations or surgery.
Regular Medication
- Please make sure to bring any medication that you are taking with you. We will happily manage any prescribed drugs our patients are taking in each patient ward. When possible, please bring along your prescription record book as well (Okusuri techo).
The term “regular medications” includes not only medication prescribed by another medical institution (including hospitals, clinics or dental clinics), but also over-the-counter medication, supplements and / or dietary supplements.
Your doctor will determine the optimal course of medication during your stay in the hospital; as such, there may be times when not all of your regular medications are administered.
In principle, visiting other medical institutions while staying in the hospital is prohibited. Likewise, your family should not seek out other medical institutions on your behalf.
Please feel free to talk with someone in the pharmacy for further information.
Consulting other Hospitals during Your Stay
- If your primary doctor determines that you require specialized medical care and/or treatment, we may refer you to another hospital.
Leaving the Patient Ward
Please inform your nurse when you wish to leave the patient ward for more than 30 minutes. This is to ensure your safety and the hospital’s security.
Leaving the Hospital, Staying Elsewhere Outside of the Hospital
It is strictly prohibited for inpatients to leave the hospital without explicit permission. If you wish to go outside or stay overnight outside of the hospital, please seek your doctor’s permission through a nurse. You will then need to fill out and submit all necessary forms beforehand in case you are in an accident or have any unexpected issues such as sudden change in your condition.
Transfer between Hospital Rooms and Wards
In accordance with the medical condition of each patient, or with consideration to the treatments of all patients in the hospital, we may ask you to move to a different room or ward. Please understand that we may not be able to meet all room requests right away.
